The South Central Community Farm was a 14-acre space located in South Central Los Angeles, California. For over 14 years this land space had been cultivated by 350 families from the impoverished surrounding communities to grow plants and vegetables to supplement their food supply. Since 2003 the farmers had been struggling to preserve their gardens because the city of Los Angeles had sold the land for the construction of a warehouse.
